T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun) Denies Rumors of Returning to BIGBANG

Recent speculation regarding T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun), a former member of BIGBANG, has captured attention on various online communities. Some users claimed that T.O.P’s name was newly added to BIGBANG’s official YouTube channel, fueling rumors about his potential return to the group. However, these claims have been confirmed as false.

On the 11th, a representative from T.O.P’s team told Star News, “The name ‘TOP’ has always been part of his official profile. It is not newly added. His stance on not returning to BIGBANG remains unchanged, as he mentioned in previous interviews.”

T.O.P has also stated that he hasn’t been in contact with BIGBANG members and still feels deeply sorry for them. His decision to leave the group and the agency years ago remains firm, citing the significant burden his past actions had placed on both the team and YG Entertainment.

The Origin of the Rumor

A recent post on an online community claimed that T.O.P’s name was added to BIGBANG’s official YouTube profile, suggesting a possible reunion. Coupled with T.O.P updating his profile picture and reportedly reinstating his stage name, some fans speculated about his return. However, these claims have been refuted.

T.O.P’s Departure and Career Update

T.O.P officially left BIGBANG following his marijuana conviction in 2016, for which he received a 10-month prison sentence with a two-year probation. In subsequent years, he publicly stated his intention not to return to the Korean entertainment industry. Nevertheless, his sudden reappearance as a cast member in 'Squid Game 2' surprised many fans.

In a recent interview, T.O.P reflected on his decision to leave BIGBANG. “I caused significant harm to my team and company due to my mistakes. Leaving the group was my way of taking full responsibility without further burdening my members,” he shared. He also admitted to not contacting the members due to lingering feelings of guilt.
